Ledge Light Health District conducted bathing water sampling on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, and all sample results were below the bacterial action levels set by the State of Connecticut except Roger’s Lake in Old Lyme, Mitchell College Beach in New London, and Green Harbor Beach in New London. The areas with elevated bacterial counts (Roger’s Lake, Mitchell College Beach, & Green Harbor Beach) were posted with a swimming advisory and re-sampled on Friday August 27, 2021. Results of the re-samples were below the action level at Mitchell College & Green Harbor Beaches in New London, however, elevated bacterial counts persisted at Roger’s Lake in Old Lyme. The advisories in New London have been lifted, though Roger’s Lake continues to remain under a swimming advisory at this time.
