At Miami Beach Association, our focus is on a family-oriented seaside community for its members. We have approximately 260 privately owned households, with almost 30% being full time residents. We have close to 800 feet of beautiful beach, safe for swimming for adults and children, during the summer season. Summer rentals are available as well as homes for sale. Ledge Light Health District conducted routine bathing water sampling on Monday, June 13, 2022. All sample results were below the bacterial action levels set by the State of Connecticut except:
Hawk’s Nest Beach – Old Lyme
Giants Neck Heights (jetty) – East Lyme
Saunders Point (Oak St) – East Lyme
Williams Beach – Stonington
Green Harbor Beach – New London
The above listed areas with elevated bacteria results were each posted with a swimming advisory on Tuesday June 14, 2022, and re-sampled on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. Results for all five areas were within acceptable limits and the swimming advisories have been lifted for all areas.
The swimming advisory posted for Old Black Point Beach in East Lyme on June 10th was lifted on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, following acceptable results from the sample drawn on Monday, June 13, 2022.
No swimming advisories or closures are currently in effect for any LLHD monitored beaches.
